is to bring lasting positive change in the lives of children in need through
out the globe.

Save the Children Uganda Field Office is currently implementing a five year
Food Security Program in Nakasongola district and is seeking to recruit
competent professionals to fill the following positions:

Position: HIV/AIDS Co-ordinator

Reporting to: Social Services Manager

Place of Work: Nakasongola District

Major Responsibilities:
· Guide the planning, coordination and implementation of
HIV/AIDS activities in the impact areas.
· Conduct basic capacity building for staff and other
partners in HIV/AIDS Programming.
· Co-ordinate and undertake regular and participatory
monitoring of HIV/AIDS activities.
· Prepare and submit written reports on regular and
timely basis on the progress of activities.
· Establish linkages with counterparts in and out of the
District Health Office and other Partners to support and strengthen
initiatives in HIV/AIDS.
· Collaborate with SC/US program sectors to ensure
integration and transfer of HIV/AIDS messages across programs in a
complimentary manner where funding allows.
· Provide technical support to Youth Officers.
· Represent SC/US at Local, National and International
fora.
· Participate in any reviews/assessment that contribute
directly or have HIV/AIDS Component.
· Perform any other related activities as may be
specified by the Supervisor and/or the Field Office Director.

Qualifications:
· A minimum degree preferably in Social work and Administration
(SWASA), Social Sciences or equivalent
· Background training in HIV/AIDS awareness and education
· Knowledge of BCC strategy development and implementation preferred
· Knowledge of how NGO's work
· At least 2yrs experience in project planning and management
including ability to handle multiple tasks and to problem solve
· Experience in training Supervising and guiding people individually
or in groups
· Excellent writing and communication skills
· Knowledge in MS Word and Excel
· Willingness to work in rural areas

Type of employment
· One year contract with possible renewal
