are currently accepting applications for the Project Manager
position of the Local Voices program.

Local Voices is a project designed to involve all levels of
the broadcast media community in HIV/AIDS training,
including radio station owners, managers, and journalists,
as well as talk show hosts and disc jockeys. Through
training seminars, on-site visits by a journalism trainer,
media competitions, travel grants, and a media resource
center, Internews and JAAIDS will support the Nigerian
media in the struggle against HIV/AIDS. The Project
Manager will supervise the Media Resource Center, based in
Abuja, as well as a small staff.

To be based in Abuja, the position will attract the
following duties:
- Responsibility for managing a resource center and
production studio to be established in Abuja
- Managing three-person staff, and ensuring proper function
of center resources
- Promote media center to local journalists, and maintain
records of center usage
- Maintain collaborative relationships with other
AIDS-related projects, and actively pursue strong working
relationships with local radio stations
- Actively work to spread HIV/AIDS competence among media
stakeholders in Abuja and surrounding areas
- Work closely with local partner staff, and assist
Resident Advisor in the timely completion of project
objectives

Qualifications:
- University degree in journalism or related discipline
- Minimum of five years media experience (preferably, but
not compulsorily, in a broadcast environment)
- Experience working with local media and donor communities
- At least three years' experience with HIV/AIDS related
projects or reporting
- Previous management experience, including basic financial
management.
- Knowledge of Windows based programs and extensive
experience with Internet research and email
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
