SOUTH AFRICA: ENABLING ENVIRONMENTS

Following the highly successful International Conference on 'TAX AND THE NON-PROFIT SECTOR' in March 2001, the Non Profit Partnership will hold a national conference on the enabling environment in March 2003.

Entitled 'AN ENABLING ENVIRONEMNT: THE LEGAL AND POLICY FRAMEWORK REQUIRED FOR A VIBRANT NPO SECTOR,' the three-day conference will feature a range of international speakers and high-profile South Africans, including members of cabinet, constitutional court judges, international and local experts.

Event management companies who have a history of working with the non-profit sector are invited to submit proposals to organize and manage the conference. Interviews will be held after a shortlist has been drawn up.

Applicants should be able to do the following:

1. RESEARCH - venues, staffing, entertainment, seeking sponsorships for specific events within the conference
2. DESIGN - Decor, layouts, presentation, logistics.
3. PLAN EVERYTHING - details, details, and details.
4. COORDINATE - Delegation, managing the project and the people
5. EVALUTE - Was it a success? Why/why not? Document any suggestions for future use.
