Dear Madam Mayor,
19 July 2011
Dear Madam Mayor,
Mandela Park Backyarders would like to congratulate Abahlali Basemjondolo for striking back against the government to free their comrades. Struggling for justice has proved to be packed with obstacles put before us by those we put in power through ballot paper.
To Abahlali baseMjondolo,
To Anti-Eviction Campaign,
To the SNI and Blackwash,
To Andries Tatane and all victims of police violence,
To all progressive movements,
To supporters and friends of the poor,
To politicians and government officials,
The following is a self-written history by our movement. After a lot of deliberation with out members, we came up with this document as a way of explaining how we have come to say Kwanele! Please use this document in order to better understand our struggle...

Dear Honourable Minister Tokyo Sexwale,
As Mandela Park Back-Yarders and residents living in Khayelitsha near Cape Town, we have decided to skip the rhetoric, and direct our message to you as the national head for Human Settlements.
