Since November12, 2012 more than 30 Nuba women with their children are suffering inside the Sudanese security detentions, subjected to severe torture and denied access to medical treatment and family visits. One of those women is now suffering from serious spinal injury due to torture.

“My Father is 70 years old. He has no interest in politics and suffers from a kidneys problem. But the Sudanese army and security forces arrested him two weeks ago in our village near Dillanj (Nuba Mountains), and we do not know his fate.

The Sudanese security forces in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan/Nuba Mountains state, started arresting women early November and interrogating them about their relations to the Sudanese Peoples Liberation Movement/North, which is fighting the Sudanese government in the region since June 20

Jalila Khmais Koko is a Nuba woman activist detained eight months ago for calling for peace and helping her peoples fleeing the war in Nuba Mountains to safe places such as the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
