The peoples of Kenya voted in an electoral process on 4 March 2013. There were six differing elections held on that day with the contests for president, 47 governors, 47 senators, 47 county women’s representatives, 290 members of the National Assembly and 1,450 members of the county assembly.

In recent months, media in Kenya has reported the re-emergence of the terror group Mungiki in parts of the central region. Mungiki, an exclusively Kikuyu ethnic militia, has over the years been blamed for atrocious violence and extortion in central Kenya, the Rift Valley and Nairobi.

Fellow Kenyans, I have called this press conference to inform the country of two separate but significant events that have occurred in the past one week.

Kenyans were pleasantly surprised that their most celebrated kinsman the President of the United States Barack Obama finally broke the silence on his take on the coming elections in Kenya.

INTRODUCTION

My initial reaction to the puppet Kenyan Justice Minister and Sabatia MP Eugene Wamalwa’s proclamation that the diaspora vote will be excluded from the ballot was muted disappointment, then reluctant acceptance of this edict.
