Kenyan activists launched a hotline in Nairobi called "Aunty Jane”. This hotline shares information about how women can safely have an abortion using misoprostol, and to prevent post-partum hemorrhage (PPH – dangerous bleeding after giving birth).

In the recent past, sex workers have borne the wrath of police and Nairobi City Council officials who harass them and interfere with their work. Ironically, only women are arrested whenever they are found plying the age-old trade while their male clients go scot free.

For Immediate Release13 July 2012, London – Crucial hearings will begin on Monday 16 July 2012 in the High Court on time limitation periods applicable in the landmark case brought by Kenyan victims of alleged torture during the Kenya Emergency in the 1950s and 1960s.

The attacks occurred shortly after 10am local time as prayer services were in progress at the African Inland Church (AIC) and the Catholic cathedral in the town. All 17 deaths occurred in the AIC church.
