Angola: Senior Programme Manager/Representative - IBIS

The Senior Programme Manager/Representative will represent Ibis towards authorities and partners and will be driving our partnering/fundraising work support. He/she will supervise existing programs in terms of general management, administrative and programmatic issues and will spearhead program development, synergy and coherence within the Angola program and integration of crosscutting issues. He/she will refer to the Regional Director based in Windhoek and will be a part of the regional senior management structure.

Ibis is an international NGO with a long history of working in Angola, Namibia and South Africa. The programmes in Angola are clustered around the areas of Education, Civil Society Support and HIV/AIDS. Ibis seeks to appoint a Senior Programme Manager/Representative in Angola, to be based in Luanda.

Ibis is looking to recruit someone with the following qualifications and attributes for the post:
·Relevant academic or professional education.
·Substantial management and leadership skills and experience from relevant projects/organisations, including strategic planning, team work, negotiation, financial management etc.
·Experiences within one or more of Ibis key focus areas (education, civil society work and HIV/Aids)
·Experience with programme development, implementation and M&E. Sound grasp of basic tools and approaches applied in international development assistance.
·Sound grasp of the political, economic, social and cultural development in Angola.
·Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and verbal) at negotiating level · Good interpersonal, intercultural, motivational and conflict resolution skills
·Effective communicatorA
