The Center for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP) works to prevent violence against women in Uganda. We are looking for two experienced and committed professionals to join us in this work on a part time basis. The successful candidates will be articulate and dynamic individuals with demonstrated commitment to promote women’s rights.

The successful candidates will be articulate and dynamic individuals with demonstrated commitment to promote women’s rights.

Position 1: M & E Specialist Key tasks for the position include:
• To support the coordinator in fulfilling narrative reporting requirements to donors • To take a lead role to design needs assessments and baseline data • To establish and implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system for all CEDOVIP programs • Maintain strict adherence to financial and administrative systems and policies.

Position 2: Finance Specialist • Management and oversight of CEDOVIP financial system, including monitoring of all budgets, expenditures, accountability and reporting • To support the coordinator in fulfilling financial reporting requirements to donors • Maintain strict adherence to financial and administrative systems and policies.

Specific Experience required for both posts • At least three years management and supervisory experience.
• University degree in a related discipline. A masters degree will be an added advantage • Prior work in M&E for NGOs for the M&E post • Understanding of financial and accounting systems for the Finance post • Program planning and management skills.

Experience required for ALL posts • At least three years NGO experience, preferably in human rights programming • Demonstrate commitment and passion for promoting human rights and working on violence prevention • A holder of first degree in a relevant field • Self motivated and displays initiative • Knowledge and awareness of gender and human rights issues • Fluent in community language(s) and English • Computer literate Interested candidates who meet the requirements should submit application letters to the contact below either by hand delivery or post only (no email submission) by 6th Septemeber 2006.
