EcoNews Africa (ENA) is a medium-sized sub-regional NGO headquartered in Nairobi with a mission to enable African civil society to be actively involved in decision-making on sustainable development by promoting timely information flows at all levels. We focus on governance in the areas of trade, environment and information.

We seek to recruit an Executive Director with vision, innovative ideas and proven leadership skills to head ENA’s team of professional staff and partners to realize this mission.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, s/he will possess a post-graduate degree in a subject relevant to sustainable development and have worked in the civil society sector for at least 10 years with experience in senior management. Past achievements in strategic management, policy advocacy (at national, regional and global levels) and fundraising are essential. Excellent analytical and conceptual abilities, self-motivation and effective communication are also requisites. Experience working in East Africa and familiarity with human rights, global governance and development communications will be definite advantages.
