#WeFightClimateChange week of action

Two months before the talks in Paris begin, people across the globe will gather to make connections, plan mobilisations and fight climate change together.

Dear Friend,

It’s time to send a clear message to investors, citizens and politicians across Africa and the Arab world — the age of fossil fuels is coming to an end.

From September 25th to October 2nd, from Cape Town to Amman, the #WeFightClimateChange week of action is raising the voices of communities in our countries who are fighting climate change right now, and sending this message to the negotiators at COP21 and beyond.

On September 25th, the week of action kicks off with a music and poetry night in Johannesburg. Following that, volunteers are hosting “Power Through Paris” workshops in their homes, offices, community centres and classrooms in Benin, Ethiopia, Iran, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania and South Africa over the weekend. Film screenings, artivism workshops, climate change concerts and climate impacts art exhibitions are just some of the ways people around you are coming together to fight climate change.

The key to our success is momentum: using every opportunity to build stronger relationships that we can take into the streets to grow our movement and hold our leaders accountable to science and justice.

Every journey starts with the first step and ours is on September 25th. Two months before the talks in Paris begin, people across the globe will gather to make connections, plan mobilisations and fight climate change together.

This is just the beginning. What we do next is what matters most. So here's what I need to know: are you in?

We're ready. Let's go.
