SOUTH AFRICA: GENDER COURSE
The University of Natal's Gender Studies Programme and the Agenda Feminist Media Project are offering a course on interdisciplinary themes that examine the position of women and men across disciplines as well as their private and public life.
THE UNIVERSITY OF NATAL GENDER STUDIES PROGRAMME AND THE AGENDA FEMINIST MEDIA PROJECT ANNOUNCE A WINTER SHORT COURSE (15 JULY TO 8 AUGUST 2002)
The course offers exciting and interdisciplinary themes that examine the position of women and men across disciplines as well as their private and public life.
The course will equip participants with an open mind about the challenges of gender differences and an understanding of South Africa's diverse and multicultural nature.
The objective of the course is to introduce participants to gender in South Africa. The course will examine issues of human rights, as well as relationships between gender and other aspects of our social identities * such as sexuality.
The course has a core theme "Gender Consciousness" which will run with other themes such as: Human Rights in SA; Understanding Sexuality; HIV/AIDS and Gender; Gender in the Workplace; Gender Violence and Protection Services.
This course will enrich careers in: Community Work; Education; Religion; Protection & Correctional Services; Labour & Trade Unions and many other professional and human fields.
The course will consist of two-day units/ themes, each of which can be accessed separately. The price for each two-day module is R180.00.
Certificates will be issued on completion of each two-day module.
