No foreign military bases website

The global anti-foreign military bases network is inviting groups campaigning against the presence of US/NATO/foreign military bases to be part of a global website. The website aims to be a central site for information sharing and organising for the global anti-bases movement. It seeks to show both the global nature of US/NATO military bases but especially of the growing movement against them.

CALLOUT TO JOIN GLOBAL NO BASES WEBSITE

(Please circulate widely)

Dear Friends,

The global anti-foreign military bases network is inviting groups campaigning against the presence of US/NATO/foreign military bases to be part of a global website we are constructing.

The website aims to be a central site for information sharing and organising for the global anti-bases movement. It seeks to show both the global nature of US/NATO military bases but especially of this growing movement against them.

We hope to have as many anti-bases groups as possible with a presence on the site: from grass roots community struggles against bases to peace networks; solidarity groups to research centres. Each interested group will have their own page on the site, listing their group's history, key activities, upcoming events, articles, links and contact details. We are also designing the site and content management to allow for groups to have either a simple, static page or something regularly updated.

If your organisation is interested in being a part of the website, please send the following initial details to Ben Moxham at [email protected] :

-Organisation's name

-Country/Region

-Contact person name and email

We will contact you soon to follow up on content and site management.

The global anti-bases network is a newly formed network, springing out of the anti-war movement and now existing through a lively email list of over 300 members. This website initiative comes from this list and an inaugural conference held at this year's World Social Forum in Mumbai, India.

If you are interested in joining this email list, contact Herbert Docena from Focus on the Global South at [email protected]

And again, please consider being a part of the website of a truly global movement.

In solidarity,

The No Bases Website Working Group
