Fazel Khan, a sociology lecturer at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN)has been fired by the university after a 7 month disciplinary process.

Fazel Khan, a sociology lecturer at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN)has been fired by the university after a 7 month disciplinary process. Mr Khan criticised an article regarding him published in the summer issue of Ukzndaba, a newsletter published by UKZN’s Public Affairs and Corporate Communications Department. For his words of criticism he has now been fired. COMSA, CODESRIA and the Freedom of Expression Institute are campaigning for the reinstatement of Mr Khan.
