SOUTH AFRICA: New water delivery programme
The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) has embarked on a programme to incorporate the Non Governmental Organisations and Community Based Organisations sectors in the delivery of water and sanitation.
NOTICE TO ALL NGO's AND CBO's IN LIMPOPO PROVINCE
The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) has embarked on a programme to incorporate the Non Governmental Organisations and Community Based Organisations sectors in the delivery of water and sanitation. It is a condition of the European Union and a policy of DWAF to ensure that 25% of the funds of the Masibambane programme be implemented by NGO's and CBO's. The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry therefore found it necessary to come up with a programme to develop strategies and approaches to involve NGO's and CBO's in the delivery of water and sanitation services. The civil society is seen as contributing major role towards sustainability and efficiency of water and sanitation delivery.
Therefore African Pathways Youth Development Organisation has been employed to conduct and
develop database of all existing NGO's and CBO's in Limpopo Province. This database will be used during the implementation phase of the Masibambane
programme. We request all NGO's and CBO's in the province to forward their names and all relevant information to African Pathways for inclusion in the database. Also include profile of your organsation.
The closing date for submission of your organisation information and profile is the 19th
April 2002.
