ACCEPT: Gender & Organizational Change
Machreq/Maghreb Gender Linking & Information Project is organizing its seventh regional gender workshop entitled "ACCEPT: Gender & Organizational Change" as part of MACMAG GLIP's on-going gender training and capacity building initiative. Participants represent partner development and local organizations from Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria who have been engaged in a process of mainstreaming gender in policies and programmes in working towards positive transformation in gender relations.

Machreq/Maghreb Gender Linking & Information Project (A Project of the
Centre
of Research on Development) is organizing its seventh regional gender
workshop entitled "ACCEPT: Gender & Organizational Change" as part of MACMAG
GLIP's on-going gender training and capacity building initiative.
The objectives of this workshop are the following:
1) Analyze and learn from local experiences and challenges of mainstreaming
gender onto organizational policies, practices, and programmes;
2) Introduce participants to the main components of an organizational change
strategy;
3) Develop a collective and local guide for gender and organizational change
within the context of Arab countries.
4) Enhance network and collaborative action amongst participants.
The workshop will be based on a participatory and interactive methodology.
As
such, it will rely on participants' active contributions and input.
Participants represent partner development and local organizations from
Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria who have been
engaged in a process of mainstreaming gender in policies and programmes and
in
working towards positive transformation in gender relations.
The themes of the workshop will revolve around the following:
1) Accepting organizational change for gender equality and integrating this
into a structured planning process.
2) Analyzing the internal and external context for organizational change.
3) Planning and testing the plan for organizational change.
In addition to field follow-up, monitoring and documentation of the outcome
and impact of this training, MACMAG GLIP will be producing an output in the
form of a training guidebook on gender and organisational change for a wider
audience.
