Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria - virtual discussion

The GFATM - an initiative of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan - should be
operational by the end of 2001. The Fund is intended to be an innovative,
autonomous, and rapid global public/private partnership that creates a new
fund to tackle HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and strengthen associated
health systems. Its aim is to support country-led processes and generate
measurable results.

The BTS forum provides a platform through which over 2000 people involved in
the GFATM discussions, and those with ideas and perspectives to add, are
sharing information and comments in a transparent and timely way.

Who should join BTS?

Are you interested in being part of a global moblisation against diseases of
poverty, including TB, HIV/AIDS and Malaria?

Are you in one of the following categories?
- Malaria, tuberculosis (TB) and HIV/AIDS organisations working at the
community level
- Medical doctors and health workers
- Politicians & government officers
- People living with HIV, TB or malaria
- Biomedical researchers
- Behavioural & social scientists, and other non-biomedical academics
- Educational specialists and teachers
- Cultural and religious leaders, faith-based organisations
- Other private sector or workplace representatives (trade unions, mass
oganisations etc.)
- Human rights organisations
- International NGOs
- Journalists and media organizations
