In order to improve the ability of African business women to use ICT to access critical market information, identify prospective business opportunities, increase sub-regional information flows and facilitate cross-border and international trade linkages, USAID is supporting the establishment of a Women's Business Network for West Africa (WBN). Computer Frontiers, Inc. has been contracted to recruit a West African national coordinator residing in one of the target countries of Benin, Cote D'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Niger, or Senegal with demonstrated experience in developing human and technological requirements for a networked association servicing businesswomen within the region.

An international technology consulting firm focused on applying information and
communications technology to international development concerns is currently
recruiting for the following position:
Coordinator of Women's Business Network for West Africa (1): In order to improve
the ability of African business women to use ICT to access critical market
information, identify prospective business opportunities, increase sub-regional
information flows and facilitate cross-border and international trade linkages,
USAID is supporting the establishment of a Women's Business Network for West
Africa (WBN). Computer Frontiers, Inc. has been contracted to recruit a West
African national coordinator residing in one of the target countries of Benin,
Cote D'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Niger, or Senegal with demonstrated
experience in developing human and technological requirements for a networked
association servicing businesswomen within the region. The West African
Coordinator will be have the primary responsibility for managing the: (a)
Establishment of computer access and connectivity points in each of the 8 target
West African countries, (b) Organizing training workshops for network
participants, (c) Helping to identify and bring additional Africa women
businesses and groups into the West Africa Women's Business Network and (d)
Encouraging network participants to generate and share their own local business
and trade related information with other network members.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelors of Science in information technology related
field with a minimum of 5 years professional work experience in applying
technology to business initiatives. Requirements include prior experience in
managing the establishment of Internet connectivity sites, procuring and
installing equipment, and designing and implementing end-user training targeted
toward specific audiences. Demonstrated experience in association building,
group organizing and promoting an issues-focused agenda will be key. Must be
strongly motivated to undertake work independently while simultaneously assuming
the lead role of a transnational team working in support of activities within
the W. Africa region. Prior work history must also demonstrate excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful working relationships
with a broad range of individuals. Strong writing and communications skills are
required. The individual must be fluent in French and English. Salary is
