Troubleshooting Course
Several barriers to the use of technology exists, one of which is the fact that technology breaks down when we need it most! How many times do we hear of people whose hard drive has crashed, or their computer has a virus or the printer is not working. These technological failures or breakdowns have the power to disable and disempower people and organisations to the point where people give up in despair and retreat to the traditional paper and pen and the fax machine.
Troubleshooting course hopes to empower trainees with trouble shooting indicators and guidelines. While one can always resort to a manual, often the practical experience of dissecting a piece of technology is the best way to learn about all the things that could go wrong. The training is a mix of practical and theory. It will cover among other things

Information Literacy Training
SANGONeT, in association with LINK Centre at the University of the Witwatersrand, is offering a certificate course designed to promote computer literacy.
This 5-day course is aimed at empowering people with computer skills and an understanding of the Information Society.
Topics to be covered during the course include the following:
- Windows 98
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- PowerPoint
- E-mail and Internet
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from the University of the Witwatersrand on completion of the course.
Date: 29-30 April to 1-3 May 2002
Course fee : R650.00 per person (exclude lunch)
Duration : 5 days (9h00-4h00)
HTML and Web Publishing
This 2-day course will enable participants to create a basic website, maintain their organisations' websites - add content to existing pages, add new pages, adapt a site's design, and develop the content and structure of a website.
Participants should be computer literate and have experience in browsing the Web.
Date : 18th-19th April 2002
Course fee : R1800 per person(lunch inclusive)
Duration : 2 days (9h00 -5h00)
