Working to the Head of the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia
(MEECA) team to lead on developing Christian Aid's policy positions and
advocacy strategies in relation to the Middle East region including the Iraq
crisis and the wider region. You will coordinate the policy and advocacy work
on the region at a cross-organisational level, working closely with our Global
Advocacy and Policy Division. You will undertake policy research and analysis
on agreed policy issues for MEECA and Christian Aid, and present our policy
positions and advocate at the highest levels including with the press and
media.
You must have 5 years policy experience on the Middle East in an NGO or
similar environment that has included designing and undertaking strategic
policy based research. You will have proven communication skills, enabling
you to write accurate and succinct policy briefs and reports, often at very
short notice; and be able to successfully lobby decision-makers and undertake

responsible for the development of the IRC services and for managing a small

Christian Aid is looking for an development professional to provide programme
support to relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction activities, including
networking with other agencies, internal co-ordination and producing materials
for supporters and backdonors.
The work involves setting up and using programme systems and supporting other
Programme staff in the Afghanistan regional unit; keeping stakeholders inside
and outside Christian Aid informed about the programme; and co-ordinating
projects in emergency response.
You will need to have two years' experience of international relief,
rehabilitation and development work, including project administration and two

Greenbelt Accountant

The Greenbelt Accountant is responsible for the book-keeping and accounting of
Greenbelt, a charity whose principle purpose is to run an annual arts festival
to raise spiritual and cultural awareness. The work is heavily seasonal,
averaging two days a week throughout the year, with a significant bias in
workload towards August and September and again when annual accounts need to
be prepared (currently January). The work will require the post holder to
have significant self-management skills and will report and liaise directly
with Greenbelt.
The successful applicant will be either nearing completion of a CCAB
qualification or CCAB qualified, have experience of computerised and manual
accounting and management reporting. They must also be in sympathy with the
aims of the organisation and the flexible arrangements required by the working

Christian Aid is looking for an organisational development professional to
strengthen the ability of our partners in Afghanistan to build their
structures, systems, people, networks and competencies. You will assist them
to define and achieve strategic objectives, develop accountable and

civil society.
The post is offered on a one-year contract, covering the initial phase of this
work. During this time the emphasis will be on working with partners and other
stakeholders to design a capacity building programme to run for a further two
years.
