11.11.2004
Representatives of Ivory Coast's opposition were due to meet South African President Thabo Mbeki on Thursday to try to resolve days of violent unrest in the West African cocoa producer. Mbeki's spokesman Bheki Khumalo said exiled Ivorian opposition leader Alassane Outtara had arrived in South Africa for the talks, as had rebel leaders Guillaume Soro and Djedje Mady, but the Ivorian government would not be represented.
