E-Discussion: Security Council Resolution 1325

In October 2000, the Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. With this resolution, the Security Council affirmed for the first time that integrating a gender perspective and ensuring women's participation in decision making was necessary at all stages of armed conflict, including pre-conflict.
