Phethani Madzivhandila
Phethani Madzivhandila is a Pan-Africanist Marxist labour historian at the Walter Rodney People's Library in Pretoria. He is currently based in Germany, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in labour studies and Sociology at the University of Kassel. His research focuses on migrant labour regimes and their mechanisms of exploitation under contemporary capitalism.
Madzivhandila argues that xenophobia can only be addressed through a radical political economy, not solely moral appeals to Ubuntu, and that the Left needs new political strategies to succeed.
