Strike by judges and prosecutors paralyses courts

Zimbabwe’s judicial system has ground to a halt in a nationwide strike by magistrates, judges and prosecutors for higher pay, state radio reports. Broadcasts on Saturday said courts all over the country were deserted. A few police officers acted as prosecutors in minor cases on Friday, but criminal courts in the high courts in major centres were unstaffed.
