GPAM Condemns authoritarian tactics around Tanzania’s upcoming elections
Tanzania’s authoritarian tactics leading up to the 2025 elections are condemned in the strongest terms.
We condemn the authoritarian tactics unfolding around the Tanzanian elections. A ruling party that crushes opposition, silences critics, and removes challengers through fear and coercion cannot claim democratic legitimacy.
We stand firmly against the intimidation, kidnappings, and disappearances of activists, citizens, and even clergy. These crimes against the people are an assault on basic human dignity and must end now.
As Pan-Africanists, we say NO to imperialism in all its forms and NO to any future attempt to militarize the political process. Africa does not need more guns in politics - we need justice, accountability, and people-powered democracy.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Tanzania, not with those who abuse power. The voices of the masses cannot be disappeared. The will of the people cannot be kidnapped. Africa is waking up - and we will not be silent.
