  • Obama must tell the world why he supported the Igbo genocide

    Herbert Ekwe-Ekwe | Violence & Peace
    18.05.2017

It is an unconscionable tragedy of incalculable historical consequences that Barack Hussein Obama, the first African-descent president of the US republic in 233 years ended up with a dreadful presidential legacy supporting the Igbo genocide – executed on the ground by Nigeria, an Islamist-led state, and its suzerain state Britain.

  • Theresa May and Biafra

    Herbert Ekwe-Ekwe | Violence & Peace
    16.02.2017

All that remains for British PM Theresa May is to announce to the world that Britain has terminated all support – military, political, diplomatic – for the prosecution of the Igbo genocide, apologise to Igbo people, pay reparations on behalf of the 3.1 million Igbo murdered and the tens of thousands murdered subsequently, pay reparations to the survivors, and pay reparations to reconstruct the shattered nation of Biafra.

  • That Berlin visit and that outrage

    Hebert Ekwe-Ekwe | Gender & Social Justice
    20.10.2016

Buhari’s outrageous outburst on his wife in Berlin at the end of his Germany visit completely overshadowed the import of whatever was the original reason for this trip. Quite clearly if ever there was an incontrovertible link between congenital misogyny and genocidist depravity, psychologists and geneticists would have at last found a case study here.

  • Nigeria: Battling corruption to a standstill

Godwin Onyeacholem | Popular Participation & Democratization
    08.09.2016

Since assuming office on May 29, 2015, President Buhari has lived up to his campaign promise of tackling corruption headlong and providing a fresh template for instilling transparency and accountability. Nigeria could be a model for fighting this monster that gobbles up some $2.6 trillion annually from the global economy.

  • Bring back corruption: A critique of neoliberal anti-corruption rhetoric

Moses E. Ochonu | Popular Participation & Democratization
    08.09.2016

Nigeria is gripped by the familiar anxieties of an economy in distress. This escalating crisis has demystified a president once thought capable of astute, if not magical, economic management. In their desperation for respite, many Nigerians are now paradoxically yearning for the corruption that they and their leaders blame for their economic woes.

  • Is this the change Nigerians voted for?

Godwin Onyeacholem | Popular Participation & Democratization
    06.10.2016

President Buhari comes across as being credible, with an admirably high level of personal integrity. But given the complex nation he heads and its challenges, his virtues and style should be enriched with a healthy dose of balancing, fairness, compassion and a common touch. Only that way will Nigerians enjoy the benefits of the much-touted change.

  • Dear President Buhari, Nigeria’s unity is negotiable

Chido Onumah | Popular Participation & Democratization
    14.07.2016

There seems to be consensus that Nigeria is not working for Nigerians. This is not because Nigeria is unworkable, but because it has been rigged to fail. Forty-six years after the atrocious Biafra War, low-intensity conflicts by state and non-state actors are raging across the country. Nigeria needs to be renegotiated.

  • “Block the sale of warplanes to Nigeria”: What is missing in an otherwise excellent NYT editorial

    Herbert Ekwe-Ekwe | Global Pan-Africanism
    19.05.2016

At last, a major news organisation in the United States/West has come out to challenge the deafening silence that has pervaded the world over the genocidist Muhammadu Buhari regime in Nigeria, installed in office in March 2015 by the David Cameron and Barack Obama administrations.
